Russell Westbrook’s 56th triple-double doesn’t lead to Thunder success

Russell Westbrook never ceases to amaze. Sometimes, it just doesn’t help his team win games.

The mercurial star collected his 56th career triple-double in Friday’s 96-86 loss to the Timberwolves by scoring 21 points with 12 assists and 11 rebounds. Unfortunately for Oklahoma City, Westbrook shot just 7 of 23 from the floor and turned the ball over 10 times.

None of the five games on Tuesday’s NBA schedule are particularly good matchups. The best of the group might be the T-wolves visiting San Antonio. Minnesota is coming off a 98-87 loss at Dallas. The Spurs lost their last time out, a 108-105 loss to the Suns in Mexico City. But San Antonio is 7-1 this season following a loss, so the Timberwolves will have their hands full.
